Redesigning a credit union website without losing online banking

The problem

The credit union offers a lot: accounts, loans, calculators, forms and regular offers. They wanted all of it laid out the same way, so members could find what they need quickly. The person who looks after the site knew roughly what they wanted but didn’t have the time to rebuild it themselves.

What we did

• A review of every page. We went through the whole site, worked out how it should be organised, and flagged older pages for the credit union to check were still needed.
• Two design directions. We presented a more traditional look for existing members and a cleaner, modern one for younger members who bank online.
• Easy to find your way around. Accounts, loans, calculators and forms each have a clear page, so members can quickly find the one they need.
• Consistent throughout. Every page looks and works the same way, so the site feels like one whole.
• Online banking sign-in kept. It sits in the homepage banner and moves into the menu as you scroll, so there’s always one way to log in on screen.
• Easy to update. The credit union’s team can change rates and offers themselves in minutes.

The result

The credit union now has a modern website that’s easier for members to find their way around, with online banking sign-in where they expect it. Its team can keep rates and offers up to date themselves, without waiting on a developer.
