What is business process automation?
Business process automation means using software to carry out routine, rule-based tasks that people currently do by hand. Instead of someone moving information from one place to another, the systems talk to each other and the work happens on its own, with a person stepping in only where judgement is needed.

Where AI automation fits
AI is one of the tools we build with, alongside n8n, Zapier, Make and custom code. We use it where a job needs reading or judgement that fixed rules can’t manage: pulling details out of emails and PDFs, sorting enquiries, or drafting a reply for a person to check.
Where a simple rule will do the job, we use a simple rule, and save AI for the parts that really need it. We run AI automations in our own business every day, so we can tell you honestly what works and what doesn’t.

Inbox triage
Every hour, AI reads the new email, gives each message one next step (reply, do, wait, file or read) and sends us a summary with anything urgent at the top. If it isn’t sure, it asks rather than guesses.

Meeting notes to first-draft proposals
When a call ends, AI writes up the notes and the follow-up, then drafts the proposal: it knows our services and how we work, and lays it out in our own design. We edit it in a simple web portal, so every proposal is still written by us, just never from a blank page.

Invoice and receipt filing
It checks our bank transactions in FreeAgent, finds the matching invoice in our email or tells us how to get it from the supplier, and works out the VAT, with AI stepping in when simple rules can’t. Anything it’s confident about is posted automatically; the rest waits on a dashboard for a quick check.
About Code Addicts
Code Addicts grew out of a traditional web agency. Over the years, clients kept asking us to connect their websites to everything else: their CRM, their accounts, their booking tools. We were good at it and we enjoyed it, so in 2018 we launched Code Addicts to focus on it: automation and bespoke software, with websites that plug into the rest of the business. Based in the UK, working with businesses around the world.
Founded by Nathan Roberts, a developer with 20+ years’ experience. Every project is handled by a senior developer from start to finish, so you never have to explain your business twice.

What is automation in business?
Software handling tasks that follow the same steps every time, so your team spends that time on work that needs a person.
How do I start?
List the tasks your team repeats each week and roughly how long each takes. Frequent, rule-based, error-prone ones are the best place to start. We can go through the list with you on a call.
Do I need to change my software?
Usually not. Most of our work connects the tools you already have.
Is this only for large businesses?
No. A few hours saved a week matters more to a small team.
Where does AI fit in?
Where a job needs reading or judgement. We use it alongside workflow tools and code, never for its own sake.
How much does AI automation cost?
There’s the build, quoted as a fixed price, then usually small monthly AI usage costs. We estimate both before we start.
What happens to our data?
It stays in your own accounts wherever possible. We only ask for the access a job needs, use business plans that don’t train AI on your data, and can sign a data processing agreement if you need one under GDPR.
How much does it cost?
One connection between two systems is a small job; a bespoke system is larger. The price depends on how many systems, how many steps and how much is custom. We start with a call, then give you a fixed written quote.
