A WooCommerce booking site for a hot tub hire business

Cotswold Hot Tub Hire had outgrown the booking platform it launched on. It couldn’t connect to Google Ads, so the owner couldn’t see which ads led to bookings. We moved the business to a WordPress and WooCommerce site it can run itself.

The problem

The owner built the first site on Booqable, a rental booking platform, to get the business off the ground. It worked, but as bookings grew it started to hold the business back:

  • No ad tracking. Booqable connected to Google Analytics but not Google Ads, so there was no way to see which clicks turned into bookings.
  • Abandoned bookings. The only sign of an abandoned cart was a customer record with no payment.
  • No add-ons. Extras like gazebos and lights were thrown in free, because there was no way to sell them at checkout.
  • Hard to grow through Google. Adding content and location pages wasn’t easy, which made it hard to be found in Google search.

What we did

The owner split the work into two phases. Phase 1 was to get the systems right at the volume the business already handled, without disrupting bookings. That’s the phase we delivered.

  • Design. We offered five design directions. The owner chose one and we built it around the business’s branding.
  • Rental bookings in WooCommerce. Customers choose a hot tub and their dates, then book and pay online. Each hire is three days minimum, with delivery the day before and collection the day after.
  • Built in a staging environment. The new site was built separately while the live site kept taking bookings.
  • A site the owner can run. They can add products, offers and content without a developer.
  • Add-ons at checkout. Gazebos, lights and other extras are now sold, not given away.
  • Google Ads conversion tracking. The owner can see which ads lead to bookings.
  • Lead source on contact forms. Every enquiry records where it came from.
  • Orders into monday.com. Each booking lands in their CRM automatically.

The result

Here’s what happens now when someone hires a hot tub:

  1. The customer clicks an ad. Google Ads records which ad brought them in.
  2. They book and pay online. They choose a hot tub and their dates, and add extras like a gazebo or lights at checkout.
  3. The booking goes straight into monday.com. It arrives as a new order with the dates and add-ons. Nobody has to type it in.
  4. The owner sees what’s working. Google Ads shows which ads lead to bookings, and every enquiry shows where it came from.
  5. The owner keeps the site up to date. New hot tubs, offers and pages go live without waiting on a developer.
